About AVFRI
AVFRI is an independent online publication that brings together writing on cinema, politics, social justice, and contemporary life. It explores how images, stories, power structures, and lived realities intersect -whether on screen, in public discourse, or in everyday experience.
Founded and edited by Elvan Levent since September 2025, AVFRI was created as a space for critical thinking and careful attention: a place where culture is not treated as separate from politics, and where artistic expression is understood within its social and historical context.
Alongside the editor-in-chief, AVFRI currently collaborates with a small group of contributors -writers, critics, and researchers -whose work reflects a shared commitment to ethical inquiry, independence, and intellectual honesty.
AVFRI does not follow trends or ideological templates. It remains intentionally open, evolving through dialogue, dissent, and sustained engagement with difficult questions. At its core, as a publication AVFRI is driven by a belief that writing -like cinema -can challenge silence, resist simplification, and create space for deeper understanding.
