Rita Ansone
Freelance Photographer, photojournalist
Rita Ansone is a Latvian-born photographer and visual artist based in Lisbon,
Portugal. Her work explores human stories, identity, and the atmospheric beauty
of everyday life, blending documentary and artistic approaches, with a current
focus on creative portraiture.
After earning her photography diploma in 2008, she moved abroad and has
lived and worked across Europe, including the UK and Belgium, experiences
that shape her perspective and visual language. Her photography has been
exhibited internationally in cities such as London, Bristol, Brussels, and Lisbon,
and published in outlets including The Guardianand Folha de S.Paulo. She has
been working as a photojournalist for A Mensagem for six years, documenting
human stories and current events.
Ansone is the co-creator of People of Lisbon, an ongoing documentary project
launched in 2020 that documents the diverse lives and stories of Lisbon’s
residents through creative storytelling photography.
