Mateusz Chrystian Gołębiewski
Cinematographer
Born in Stargard, Poland, Mateusz Chrystian Gołębiewski is a cinematography student at the Łódź Film School. In his twenties, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he attended a postgraduate course at the London Film School. Although he was unable to complete the programme due to financial constraints, his international journey continued with a six-month exchange at FAMU in Prague.
As a cinematographer, he has worked on a wide range of ambitious projects around the world, including documentaries, short films, and feature films. His work on The Weekend Sailor — a documentary telling the story of the first winners of the legendary 1973–74 Whitbread Round the World Race — received widespread acclaim, earning dozens of awards, including the Best Cinematography Award at the Madrid International Film Festival, and a nomination for the Ariel Awards by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC).

In addition to his work behind the camera, he has modest experience as a director, although he does not pursue directing as his primary career path. His first documentary as a director, Labor, won the Best Debut Award at the Ann Arbor Polish Film Festival in 2018.
