Piotr Sułkowski

Piotr Sułkowski is a Polish film director and screenwriter. He holds a Master of Arts in Filmmaking from the renowned Łódź Film School (2016), one of Europe's leading film academies, and is also a graduate of the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Warsaw (2007).
Throughout his career, Sułkowski has received numerous prestigious awards and scholarships recognising his artistic achievements. He is a recipient of the Creativity Promotion Fund from the Polish Society of Authors ZAiKS (2021), the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage's Culture on the Web scholarship (2020), and the highly competitive Young Poland scholarship (2015), awarded by the National Centre for Culture to outstanding emerging artists. His honours also include the Wiesław Nowacki Prize for the Most Promising Young Filmmaker (2015) and the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Award for exceptional artistic achievement (2013).
His acclaimed short film Play (2018) has enjoyed extensive international festival success, becoming one of the most widely screened and recognised Polish short films of recent years. His films, including Miruna, have been presented at more than 200 film festivals worldwide and have been broadcast on Canal+, Kino Polska, TVP Kultura, and Ale Kino+.
Over the course of his career, Sułkowski has collaborated with some of Poland's most distinguished actors, including Joanna Kulig, Andrzej Chyra, Adam Woronowicz, Mirosław Baka, and Justyna Wasilewska. His work is recognised for its cinematic craftsmanship, humanistic perspective, and distinctive visual storytelling.
