Salome Vepkhvadze
Film Director, Contemporary Artist
Salome Vepkhvadze is a Georgian film director and contemporary artist working across fiction
and experimental cinema, video art, installation, performance, painting, and education, with a
particular focus on creative writing and the development of visual thinking. Her primary
motivation is to discover new possibilities through experimentation and to develop new forms of
auteur cinema.
Her artistic practice explores themes of existentialism, spirituality, identity, memory, mythology,
and new approaches to visual storytelling.
Her filmography includes fiction, documentary, and experimental films that have been presented
at numerous international film festivals and exhibitions, receiving awards and international
recognition. Alongside her artistic practice, she develops long-term research and creative
projects dedicated to Georgian mythology, folklore, and the evolution of experimental visual
storytelling.
